Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born December 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 during an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Later, she would become Romania's gymnastics instructor. Comaneci competed for the first time at the national junior championships and finished 13th. In the following year, she was crowned champion. When she competed in her first international contest in 1972, which was a pre Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three gold medals while in 1973 and 1974 she was the junior all-around champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she topped Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver medals. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She also was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars using double backwards salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the entertainment industry began during her teens when she began doing figure skating alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the show that travels named Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol was a part of the entertainment industry during her teens. She began her career as the figure skater who performed with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. They featured ice-skating shows that included staged performances.
